A fundamental precondition for successfully supporting early-career researchers at the CEN is the promotion of research-driven education in all phases of their training. With this goal in mind, CEN members support the Bachelor’s and Master’s degree programs offered for the geosciences, social sciences and humanities. As a result, students do not receive strictly discipline-specific education, but are motivated to participate in interdisciplinary collaboration from the earliest stages of their studies. They engage in project-oriented work in step with actual practice, which is as a rule integrated into the multidisciplinary, international research projects pursued by the CEN. Beyond the diverse subject-specific programs, there is an active exchange between students and doctoral candidates on the one hand, and various universities in the EU and abroad on the other.
The interdisciplinary degree program Master Integrated Climate System Science was established at the Cluster of Excellence CliSAP and is jointly offered by the CEN’s member bodies.
