The Cluster of Excellence “Climate, Climatic Change, and Society” at the Universität Hamburg integrates natural and social science aspects of climate change research to perform an inter- and transdisciplinary exploration of human-environment interactions. One focus of this research is to analyze and cooperatively explore sustainable ways for society to adapt to climate change.
This interdisciplinary lecture series will present approaches to climate adaptation for urban, rural and coastal areas. The regional focus of the presentations will be primarily – as in the preceding series of lectures – on the city of Hamburg and northern Germany, with further contributions on project regions in sub-Saharan Africa and Amazonia.
